Wingardium Leviosa. The Board of Education inspected Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the results were less than impressive. The school was given an unsatisfactory score of 4 due to poor behavior and quality of teaching. (Slate)
More help, please. There is a growing discrepancy over what? among students and teachers taking online courses at community colleges. Students want more instruction and help, and teachers feel as though students should be more independent—a miscommunication that causes frustration, confusion, and tension. Enough for a degree. Students across the country are dropping out of school without realizing that they have enough credits to get an associate’s degree. Michigan is working to fix this by conducting a nation-wide search for those students and giving them an opportunity get a degree and earn more money in their careers. (NPR)
No fun allowed. An elementary school in Canada has banned the game “tag” from its school stating that hands-on play would no longer be permitted. Parents are not happy about the change and thinks the school should just “let kids be kids.” (The Atlantic)
